Dr.’s Allen and Clayton are specialists in the reconstruction of the teeth and oral structures with a combined 40 years experience treating complex esthetic, implant, and trauma patients. Both Dr.’s Allen and Clayton have lectured extensively both nationally and internationally and both have published articles based on original research. Dr.’s Allen and Clayton are both board certified by the American Board of Prosthodontics. In the State of Tennessee there are only 7 dentists with that distinction. They were also both selected by a nationwide vote of 9680 dentists to be included in the 2004-2005 inaugural edition of “The Best Dentists in America.”

James D. Allen, D.D.S.
Dr. Allen attended the University of Tennessee earning a B.A. in Biology, followed by his dental degree at University of Tennessee School of Dentistry. Following dental school, Dr. Allen attended the Medical College of Georgia for an additional two years of prosthodontic specialty training. He remained as faculty for 7 years culminating in his being the director of the post-graduate prosthodontic program before entering private practice in 1993. Dr. Allen is currently Associate Professor at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.
Dr. Allen is a Fellow in the American College of Prosthodontists and a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, Tennessee Dental Association, Nashville Dental Society, Music City Study Club, and Governor’s Study Club.
Dr. Allen and his wife Jo have three daughters, Kristy, Jamie, and Katy. Dr. Allen is an avid motorcyclist and enjoys traveling, with a goal of visiting all of the National Parks in the United States.

George H Clayton, D.D.S.
Dr. Clayton attended Wake Forest University earning a B.A. in Chemistry graduating cum laude followed by his dental degree at the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry. Following dental school, Dr. Clayton then completed two years of prosthodontic specialty training at Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Dr. Clayton was Chief of Prosthodontics in an Advanced Education Program in General Dentistry before entering private practice in 1998. Dr. Clayton is currently Assistant Professor at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and also serves as a consultant to several post graduate dental training programs.
Dr. Clayton is a Fellow in the American College of Prosthodontists and a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, Tennessee Dental Association, Nashville Dental Society, Academy of Osseointegration, and Governor’s Study Club.
Dr. Clayton and his wife Pam enjoy traveling. Dr. Clayton is also an avid golfer with a goal of playing all of the Top 100 public golf courses in the United States.

Sharon Dickens - Registered Dental Hygienist
Sharon Dickens is our Dental Hygienist and has been with our practice since May 1999. Sharon has superior skills and is frequently complemented by patients on her thorough, yet gentle touch. Her caring attitude and utmost in professionalism are exemplary and we are extremely proud to have Sharon as part of our team. Sharon is originally from Iowa, but met her husband James while working for American Airlines in Nashville. They moved to Dallas where Sharon found her true passion in dentistry and earned her dental hygiene degree. James and Sharon have two children, Ashley and Noah.

Dawn Alderman- Scheduling Coordinator
Dawn is our newest edition to our staff that joined us in 2006. She comes to us as a recent graduate of the Dental Assisting Program at High Tech Institute located in Nashville, Tennessee. She is a native of Florida, but moved to the Nashville area when she was 5 years old. Dawn has a wonderful personality and displays eagerness to help our patients in anyway she can. She has two daughters Cassandra and Alanna.

Ruthe Armstead - Registered Dental Assistant
Ruthe Armstead is a Registered Dental Assistant that has been with our practice since 1998. Her superior skills and compassion for our patients make her an invaluable part of our team. We rely on her talents for many functions in our practice and she readily accomplishes them in an exemplary manner. She was born and raised in Iowa and received her dental assisting degree from Midstate College in Carthage, Illinois. Ruthe and her husband, Jon, have a son named Will that keeps them busy.

Jonna Ward - Registered Dental Assistant
Jonna Ward comes to us with a tremendous amount of experience. She joined our practice in 2005. She was in the very first class of Registered Dental Assistants getting her certificate in 1978. We are thrilled that she has brought her skills and knowledge to our practice. In her spare time, Jonna helps her husband, Terry, in his dental equipment sales and repair business. They have a daughter named Sami.

Kristan Gordon - Registered Dental Hygienist
Kristan Gordon is our part-time registered dental hygienist. Kristan has excellent skills and is complemented by patients on her gentle technique. She is a born-Tennesseean and a 2004 graduate of the TSU/Meharry Dental Hygiene Program. She has two sons, Kendrian and Kavien.
