What Is Teeth in a Day?

The Teeth in a Day process involves removing any damaged teeth and then placing dental implants. Then, you’ll receive a custom denture. This process is done all in one appointment. So, after you leave our office, you’ll have a new set of teeth that look and function naturally.

While you will leave the office with dental implants and a new denture, the denture is a temporary one. You will still need to give the dental implants time to fully heal and fuse to your jaw. In a few months, when the implants heal completely, you’ll receive your final prosthesis that’s attached permanently to the dental implants.

Advantages of Teeth in a Day

Teeth in a Day is a good option for patients with multiple damaged teeth. Missing and broken teeth make it difficult to do everything from eat to speak, and they can also cause pain in your mouth.

With Teeth in a Day, you can:

  • Leave our office with completely functional teeth
  • Prevent bone loss in your jawbone
  • Ensure a quicker healing time because you only need one treatment day
  • Feel more confident about your smile
  • Chew, eat, and speak more comfortably

While Teeth in a Day might not be right for everyone, it’s a good option if you have many problems with your smile and need new teeth quickly. The best way to know more about Teeth in a Day and if it’s right for you is to meet with one of our dentists.

Is Teeth in a Day Right for Me?

If you have been struggling with an entire arch of teeth losing its function and aesthetic appearance, but also want a convenient solution, Teeth in a Day can help you fix an entire arch of teeth in a single visit.

Not everyone is a candidate for Teeth in a Day. We recommend Teeth in a Day for those who:

  • Can undergo implant placement surgery
  • Are willing to have all teeth in an arch removed
  • Have enough bone density for dental implants
  • Are looking for a convenient full-arch replacement option

We will work with you to determine treatment time and date, since Teeth in a Day implant placement may require a couple of days of recovery or downtime. During our consultation, we will also go over cost and our available payment plans to make Teeth in a Day a reality for you.

If you still have functioning teeth in your arch, we also offer dental bridges and partial dentures, which do not require the removal of healthy teeth in your arch. Teeth in a Day requires the removal of all teeth in an arch, which may not be the right approach for some people.

What a Teeth in a Day Appointment Looks Like

We will have a consultation on a different day before your Teeth in a Day appointment, to go over your smile goals and confirm that Teeth in a Day is the right treatment for your smile. If we decide to go forward with Teeth in a Day, we will take imaging using our CBCT scanner to plan your implant placement.

The Teeth in a Day appointment takes a couple of hours in our Brentwood office. We will follow these steps to give you your dream smile:

Close up of teeth

Any remaining natural teeth are removed for the Teeth in a Day treatment. We will complete this part of your treatment under local anesthesia.

We will then surgically place your dental implants under local anesthesia and with any necessary dental sedation techniques. The number of implants placed depends on your unique oral health makeup and your jawbone density.

We will take digital impressions to craft you a custom denture. You will wear the custom denture while the implants integrate with your jaw.

After your initial appointment, we will wait around 3 months to allow your implants to fuse with your jawbone. Once they are properly integrated into your jawbone, we will place your permanent denture, which will be attached to your implants permanently, to prevent slipping while you eat or speak.

How to Take Care of Your Temporary Restoration

Your temporary restoration will function similarly to traditional dentures. Make sure to remove them at night, and do not heat them up, or they may warp. Continue to brush remaining teeth, and care for your gums by gently brushing them.

Simplifying Complex Cases in Brentwood

As the only board-certified prosthodontists within 400 miles, Drs. McLaughlin, Miller, Patel, and Peterman can handle complex cases. If you have bone loss or are missing nearly all of your teeth, we can restore your smile. We care about your life and individual situation, so we will work to keep you comfortable and create the results you want.

Dental Sedation for Easy Appointments

We offer varying levels of sedation so you can have a comfortable experience receiving your Teeth in a Day. Some patients feel fully at ease with light relaxation, while others prefer a deeper level of sedation to remain unaware of the procedure.

During your consultation, we will review your health history, discuss any past dental experiences, and recommend the level of sedation that helps you feel safe and relaxed. Whether you choose nitrous oxide for mild relief or IV sedation for a deeper, sleep-like state, our team monitors you closely at every stage of your visit. Sedation can be especially helpful for those who feel anxious, have difficulty sitting comfortably for extended periods, or are undergoing full-arch treatment for the first time.

By pairing expert surgical planning with tailored sedation options, we create a Teeth in a Day appointment that is as smooth and comfortable as possible—allowing you to focus on healing and looking forward to your new smile.

Teeth in a Day Frequently Asked Questions

While each case is unique, most Teeth in a Day procedures are completed within a few hours. Your consultation beforehand allows us to plan efficiently so your appointment day runs smoothly and without unnecessary delays.

Yes. Your temporary denture is designed to function immediately, allowing you to speak and smile comfortably the same day. You’ll need to follow our guidance regarding diet and chewing to protect the implants as they heal.

Most patients experience mild soreness similar to other oral surgeries. Discomfort typically improves within a few days. We will give you detailed postoperative instructions and work with your oral surgeon to support a smooth recovery period.

Many patients schedule a few days of rest, especially if they choose a deeper level of sedation. Your individual downtime will depend on the extent of treatment and your comfort after the procedure.

Low bone density does not automatically prevent treatment. During your evaluation, we assess your jaw structure using advanced imaging and discuss whether grafting or alternative implant placement strategies may support your long-term success.

While your smile is restored the same day, completing the full process—including healing and placing your final prosthesis—typically takes a few months.
